Apart from a well known novel by Stendhal, Red and Black is a popular (and favorite) colour combination, that makes a statement. Especially if we’re talking about these two beautiful garments: the black Hell Bunny coat from Top Vintage and the red Vive Maria dress!

The coat, I fell in love with, as soon as I saw it at the Top Vintage site (although admittedly I had a very hard time deciding between all those beautiful coats). It is quite warm and quite heavy, but it’s perfect for London weather. I got a size 10, and even though it fits perfectly on my shoulders, it’s rather big on the waist. But I chose not to return it because I think the 8 might be too tight on the sleeves and back. So I’ll make sure I get the waist tailored to accentuate the hourglass figure. Other than that, it’s just perfect. I felt very glam prancing around in the cold and I really appreciated the fur lined hood, that protects you from the rain and the horrible wind! I also like that it’s long enough to cover my circle skirts or swing dresses and actually has the shape of a full skirt.

As for the dress, I love the lace detail on the heartshaped cleavage and the fabric is soft and high quality. This shade of red is my favorite and goes perfectly with my Feels so Grand retromatte liquidlipstick from MAC. I would like the dress to be a tad longer, to cover my knees, but even as is I think it’s a very elegant, timeless dress!

Needless to say, I froze when posing with just the dress! Ahhh, the life of a blogger… 😉
